Shabebik Association
Six years with a Beirut NGO: the shutter-window identity, aid campaigns, print, and a 2026 bilingual website built on a custom WordPress theme and shipped through Cloudflare.

Overview
Shabebik (‘your windows’) is a community association founded in Beirut in December 2018. Black has worked with the association since 2020, first on its identity and print, then on the social campaigns that accompanied relief distributions, and in 2026 on a full website rebuild.
Challenge
A charity that grew fast needed one consistent face across a printed portfolio, hundreds of social posts, donor documents and a website that had drifted into template content. The 2026 site also had to be bilingual with real right-to-left Arabic, fast on cPanel-class hosting, and safe to roll back.
Approach
The identity keeps the hand-drawn Arabic wordmark and turns the shutter window into a system: frames for photography, section dividers, colour blocks in red, burgundy, yellow, orange and purple. For the web, Black wrote a custom WordPress theme (shabebik-2026) with a small companion plugin for initiatives, partners, impact stories and events, self-hosted Alexandria type, and an export pipeline that publishes a static copy to Cloudflare Pages behind a staging gate.
