A travel eSIM app designed end to end: plans by region and country, an AI travel assistant, a traveller community, chat, and self-serve renewals.
Overview
Roamio sells travel eSIMs and wants to be the app people open before a trip, not just at the airport. Black designed the product in two generations: a first release, then the 2026 redesign with an AI travel assistant that plans itineraries and books hotels, a community feed, direct messages and plan management.
Approach
Teal on white with soft photographic backgrounds, one component library, and flows drawn to the last state: compatibility check, plan choice, install, activation, regional and country catalogues with data tiers, eSIM details, auto-renewal and profile. Two colour directions were explored (deep navy with teal accent, soft sky blue) before the final system.

An AI assistant that turns ‘seven days in Italy’ into an itinerary and hotel picks; a community feed for travellers; direct chats. Designed so the eSIM becomes the by-product of planning a trip.
